A Patch of Heaven

Wow I have not updated the blog for a while as life has been very busy!
Its summer here now, already we are being told that it may be another drought this summer as there has been very little rain. Our fruit trees are packed with apricots, nectarines, raspberries, and peaches, also a few passionfruit, strawberries, lemons, and apples.
We have been swimming in the pool even though its just the start of summer as it has been so hot.

Ruth and Mum have been very busy running their home busisness " A patch of Heaven" making and selling, homemade soap, quilts, kaura dolls, kitsets and now that its christmas they have been selling christmas tree angels, and more!
Ruth has also been busy writing and running the shop.
Mum has been homsechooling Paul and John.
Dad has been busy working at Ballance a (fertilizer plant).
I have been Studying Digital Multimedia Production at Northtec and have now finished, I am hoping to get a job in Web design or video production. I have also created a website and DVD for A Patch Of Heaven (not yet online). I am also working on creating a video for Ballance.
Paul and John have been busy enjoying the sun and the pool! Some days they are in it nearly all day! Ruth celebrated her 21st birthday in september and Paul turned 15 in July, John is nearly 13 and I turned 19 in June.
Its hard to believe that in a few more weeks we will have been back in New Zealand for 2 years! Time goes so fast!

We are looking forward to a warm and sunny christmas, maybe swimming in the pool or at the beach or just lying in the sun with a bowl full of fruit. :-) Very different from the last christmas we had in the USA.
What are you planning to do for christmas? We would be very interested to know!

This last year has been a hard year of New Zealand as Christchurch ( thats in the South Island we live in the North) was hit by a earthquake as some of you may have heard. Amazingly no one was killed. Also 29 miners where killed by a explosion in a mine a few weeks ago. These disasters has brought New Zealand together more closely as a nation so good has come from it.

We miss everyone and would love to hear from you all!

Hi Rachel and Family, so good to hear from you. We miss you and hard to believe you've already been back in N.Z. for 2 years! Can hardly wait to see your web page for "A patch of Heaven." Let us know when it's on line. We are celebrating Christmas at home this year with Angie, Toby, Emma, and Aidan, and Landis and Dagmara. We haven't had much in the way of winter weather yet, although up higher in the mountains have been getting snow. Love You and have a blessed Christmas. Pam
